Jun. K and Enlistment...How is this Stan handling being a military wife? LOL!!!

Bae has enlisted and it was a shock, but not a surprise. Obviously, I knew he was going to enlist, as I wrote the Blog "So Your Bias Will Enlist". What I didn't know is that he was going to have a little DUI situation and have to basically go on a self-inflicted hiatus. I figured it would happen in the month of May and we all had theories. I wish I had a picture of my work calendar because I wrote down the dates that other idols were enlisting and thought maybe he would go the same day. I was close but wrong. Enlistment date: May 8th.

My initial reaction to his enlistment:
So I hyperventilated a little and dropped a tear or two but I soon got it together and read his letter in several English translations.  I thought for sure Minjun would have posted a pic on Instagram before he enlisted, but after reading the letter, I see that getting into a little trouble publically was very disheartening/disappointing to himself and he took all very seriously as he should. The way he had locked himself up, I thought the next time I was going to see Minjun was on the day his enlistment would be over. LUCKILY someone is the best leaker or poster or Jun. K stan because he has been in the Army for 13 days (Korea Time) and we have so many updates and postings. Honestly, it's like a breath of fresh air. I feel like I am seeing him more than I did before the DUI even.

Insignia
What is awesome is there is a way for me to write a letter to him, which I have drafted and written in hangul and just need to type it on the Korean Military website... www.mil.kr/iletter
This is the 2nd Infantry's Insignia that you have to click to find him.

He even wrote a letter to fans expressing how everyone is getting along and that he was able to learn formations easily (Easier than 2pm's Choreography). I am now feeling proud of him as he is toughing it out better than I once thought and he is even being a leader to his squad in the army. I hope he continues to do well.
I also think it is safe to say that he has a great face without make up. While active with 2pm Kim Min Jun ssi is made up with a lot of make up. There is a great deal of contouring done with his face. 2pm make up artist once said this was due to the fact that his face isn't as symmetric as the others and so this takes more time. All I know is with or without make-up that's MY BAE!!!! I love him. I will continue to wait for him. 627 days left.
Special thanks for the pics to:

Jun. K of 2pm Teases Us for a Week...

...and I can't wait for the main course, which won't be here until November 27 at 6pm KST.  Let me take you back.....

We knew that Mr. No Love would be releasing something again. It was in August 2016 he released his Korean solo debut, Mr. No Love featuring the hit single "Think About You." 2pm had a comeback the following month and at the end of 2016 he released his third Japanese album, "No Shadow." Then   fans got word that in January 2017 he would hold two concerts during his birthday weekend. We all knew what would be going down.... We (the fans) figure he would be entering the military soon for his mandatory service.  2pm announced that hey would hold final concerts, before member enlistments. It was during this time Jun. K was injured after falling from stage equipment, fracturing his right elbow and right ring finger. 2pm ended up rescheduling the concerts in June and omg it was so emotional on the last night of the six concerts.

Ok so typically you don't write articles like with the info from the past but you discuss the updates first, but this is my blog and I don't have to be journalistically correct. Plus I needed you to understand how we have come to where we are now....

Sometime in the middle of November Jun. K announced he would be releasing his 2nd Korean album on November 27th. A full schedule of events was posted as well leading up to the release.  As a fan it has been a glorious week.  I seem to be waking up to Jun.K news every morning.  This was some really awesome public relations. I don't feel like he had the same type of promotions for Mr. No Love.
Each day fans got a glimpse, a tease of song titles and lyrics. Jun. K is a phenomenal songwriter so the lyrics revealed just draw the fans in further.  Fans already know Jun. K's levels of experience, work ethic and skills of perfection, so our expectations are high but excited.
"Let me tell the truth, from today on, those guys are all my girl's fans."

"Don't worry about getting a cold until the winter is over."
"Mister, hang on, can you rest for five minutes before moving this? I'm worried that I might have left something behind over there in the bedroom."
"I don't know anymore, either. I'm probably just one of those people."

"The weight of the world that I have to make by myself. I don't drag it. I go holding the weight".

JYP released "November to February" featuring Somi.

And FINALLY.... The ALBUM SPOILER....

Now we wait for the video teaser due to be released on November 26th and finally the full album and full video release on Monday the 27th.

As a fan these words can't even express the way that I feel about the release of this music. Its bittersweet, which is exactly what Jun. K is trying to convey in this album. Moving into your 30s after your 20s is bittersweet on one hand you have lived as in adult but youthfully and now you are moving into a new level of maturity still youthful, but there are new expectations put on you. I should know because I am 33 years old. I know all too well what it is like to move into your 30s.  And for Minjun or should I say Jun. K there is a sense of the unknown as he has to leave what he loves... Music for a little while and fulfill his mandatory enlistment,  for TWO YEARS!!! I am sure he will find time to do music, but this is a very questionable time for Korean Idols as you never know if you will get out and be received or be considered old news.  I am just glad that his promotions for this new concept has been going so well and I hope that he is well received from the Korean people as he must move into enlistment and I much watch..... I am dying.... slowly!!!  ðŸ˜¢ At least we get one last present.  LOVE YOU JUN. K !!!

Jun. K accident during D-3 of 6 Nights concerts

This morning I woke up to news that Jun. K had fallen off the stage during the third concert of 2pm's 6 nights concert. The concerts seemed like a gift to fans two member's Jun. K and Taec Yeon would be enlisting soon.  According to some concert-goers, the fall seemed very scary, but according to the current news, it appears that he has fractured his elbow and a finger. Let's hope for a speedy recovery for our Min Jun Oppa!!!

Military Service...but why are my eyes sweating?

There are a lot of missing details...
First... Jun. K released another solo album in Japan. This was called No Shadows and its pretty sexy, following the sexiness from his first Korean solo called Mr. No Love.  Album Art:
In December he did a few concert dates in Japan. He celebrated Christmas (his life is an open book on the gram) And the next thing you know with not much warning we get a heartfelt single with a video on Youtube, that doesn't even feature him....
So I am like what's this? Now we already knew back in December that he would be doing two special concert dates in January. I was, of course, sad because I have no passport. (HAHAHA) But now we have this new single and I was like why... I keep wanting to say We because I am a hottest and feel like all of us hottest were feeling a "way". Anyway then, of course, we find out that Jun. K would be releasing a special Korean Solo.  I pre-ordered it immediately and of course, I am still waiting because the way my kpop dealer is set up... it has to come from Korea to China then to the USA... it will go from NY to DE... I had tracking text me when I was waiting on No Shadow... packages go through so much.
It's on Itunes and they released a teaser for it so I am most excited to hear an "Alive" remix and "Phone Call" in Korean. Jun. K is really into R&B and Hip Hop so his albums really reflect this.... I mean Mr. No Love, No Shadow and 77-1x3-00 are all like drench in R&B/Hiphop... slightly trap. I have been excited during this time. Talking with my Instagram friends about him and his music. My mom sings his music unprompted. (HAHAHA) And This morning (at 2:30 am) I was supposed to watch him live while he prepared for his concert and what did I do? Turned the alarm off and continued sleeping only to wake up at like 4:30 trying to figure out what happened (HAHAHA). I am waiting for the broadcast to be uploaded on the Vlive website. This morning my gram friends are sharing posts that were moving on the gram from the concert and one pic got me....

Pay no attention to Woo Young in the back, but you see Khunnie holding Oppa!!! Cause he is in the Old Boy crew... but he is Thai and exempt from both Korean Military and Thai military and our Taec Yeon and Min Jun are not and they will be going away soon. You can always tell when your bias has to leave whether it is Kdrama or Kpop, Because they will do everything that they can do before they go... Taec Yeon had his group activities first, then a drama, and web drama, then he did a Japanese solo and finally a movie. Jun. K being the voice of the group has been doing that. After group activities he did a Japanese solo and toured,  now a Korean solo and concert... what other way would you celebrate your 30th BDAY? But then I saw this pic and all of what I just said about the military came into my mind and I realized the next time I see the 2pm crew all together like this will be in 2020. (Jun Ho is missing because he is filming a drama)
My eyes started to sweat from this I was like wait what is happening eyes don't sweat but my eyes were sweating...

2014-2016 has been an awesome time having included these guys. They debuted in 2008 and I have spent recent years catching up on this group. I know, and many people don't want to admit this but, I will... things won't be the same in 2020. We don't want them to stay the same. I am not saying I will forget 2pm or Jun. K, but the magic of current times will be remembered in my heart. In 2020 or whenever Jun. K or 2pm is able to return to Hottest I am going to reflect on this blog.

Do you still have my LOVE LETTER?

If you are in Japan then you have been listening to Jun. K's Love Letter since 11/25/15 (25/11/15 for my foreign friends). You may have even had the chance to see him in concert and I am super jealous. Luckily I pre-ordered Love Letter and got it today 11/30/15 (30/11/15) and I am pleased... of course. His voice is so smooth. One thing I love about Jun. K is that he does the kind of music that he wants to do and I am just glad that JYP allows him that freedom... but that probably has a lot to do with the fact that JYP is Jin Young Park aka JY Soul. His music is on the R&B vibe as well.  Looking at Love Letter is exactly that...
A smooth Love Letter sang by one of Kpop's most soulful voices having grown up looking up to American Singers such as Stevie Wonder, R. Kelly and Whitney Houston. At times his voice reminds me of  KC from Jodeci, but smoother and powerful making forget that 95% of the album is in Japanese, leaving the hooks in English. I am kind of surprised because I feel like Love Letter is much more mellow than his first Solo Mini Album Love Hate aside from Love Letter first single which is the track Love Letter, which listening to the song sound like a trip in time to Judy Garland's 1949 film, In the Good Old Summer Time, which showcases american standard, orchestra backed songs. In the video we see our lovely Jun. K cosplay as Charlie Chaplin and meshing 1920s-30s with 2015. I am just like how does he and Super Changddai come up with this sound AND how did the director come up with a video concept going along with it??? Moving on.... After  Love Letter the following four songs remind me of songs that would play on the radio station my parents listened to on our way back from Philly.  Better Man is simple,  beginning with an acoustic guitar allowing us to really hear Jun Min's (Jun. K's real name) voice. The english lyrics explain "You make me want to be a better man." I don't understand Japanese at all but you can hear a vulnerability in his voice. The simplicity of the composition allows for the listener to catch all his runs.  Following Better Man is a mid tempo jam that sounds like Jun. K and Changddai were inspired after a night of listening to the B side of various albums of the 80s and 90s. I don't know what the sound is called. Its Pop. Its got that 80s flavor, but 90s mid tempo... it doesn't know if it is a dance track or a slow jam. Regardless it is catchy.  Track 4 is called Walking on the the Moon. After Mr. Doctor on his first mini album I thought Walking on the Moon would be similar in the psychedelic hip hop trip that was Mr. Doctor (a song featured on Hot 97, like seriously a Japanese rap song on an American Hip Hop station that is a major accomplishment) but with his raspy voice I was again reminded of singers like KCi and Sisqo. Jun. K and another producer BoyToy put together a composition of trumpets, pianos, and drums creating a melodic true R&B/ Hip Hop infusion that although isn't as Psychedelic as Mr. Doctor it is still funky. Which leads us to the last track "Hold Me Tight" which is 100% slow jam, but because its Jun. K it is a little cabaretish too.... I get lost in his vocals, I can't help it.
Jun. K with his dogs Denver and Noopy
Unfortunately I have to go buy the B version so I can get the songs Sorry and Love Game.... Jun. K always makes me feel warm and fuzzy.. like fuzzy socks...
